Tab Trade — What It Is
Tab Trade launched in Q1 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Before this, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, a New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background is relevant. It means the leadership is not figuring it out from scratch. That is not a guarantee. It is more reassuring than a founder with no industry background.
The broker opened with execution through Equinix servers. Same data centres banks and hedge funds use. Usually a new brokerage starts with a white-label MT4 setup. TabTrade did the opposite. Interesting choice.
Market coverage: forex, indices, gold, silver, commodities, equities, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. 1,000+. For a broker that is a few months old, that range is broad.
The Software
You get: MT5, cTrader by Spotware, and web trading. Both MT5 and cTrader from a single account. Most brokers pick one platform. Getting both makes a difference. Use whichever you prefer.
MetaTrader 5 is the default. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you have used MetaTrader previously, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader by Spotware is the alternative. Cleaner order book. More responsive charts. cBot support. Many people like it better than MT5 after comparing.
Direct FIX connectivity is available for automated strategies but needs the VIP account ($25k minimum). TradingView is apparently in the works. That will be a good addition when it lands.
Accounts and Pricing
Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. 1.0 pip spreads. Commission-free. Straightforward. Zero deposit requirement. Good for people who want simple pricing.
Edge account. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. Total cost: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On liquid pairs, the raw spread is often a fraction of a pip. Meaning your actual cost per trade can sit under half a pip. That is hard to beat for an offshore broker. Most platforms that run raw pricing at this level want $500 or more to open. This broker requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25,000 deposit required. FIX API, execution under 20ms, tailored rates. Not something the average person. Ignore this one unless you move real size.
Infrastructure
The execution is where this broker separates from most new launches. Equinix LD4/LD5. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. Those are not marketing fluff. The average platform operate at hundreds of milliseconds.
Does this affect you? For short-term trading, yes. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is the difference between. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. What matters is the setup is serious. That signals they are not cutting corners on the tech.
Combine those fill times with 0.0 pip spreads and $7 round-turn and the total package holds up. Few brokers in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
This is the thing that matters. The broker is regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is outside tier-1 jurisdiction. No CySEC. No investor compensation scheme. If that is a problem for you, this broker is not for you. Lots of FCA-regulated options out there.
However. Benjamin Boulter came from BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The server placement costs real money. Scam brokers do not pay for Equinix connectivity. That does not replace tier-1 regulation. It should be part of your assessment.
The deal: you give up tier-1 protection. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether that is worth it is your call.
